ABOUT US

Our Founders, Talia and Alana Besikof, are two sisters of a pediatric cancer survivor from Orange County, CA. The sisters were inspired to create Sibling Sanctuary from their experience as a sibling of a young childhood cancer survivor and the healing she experienced through connecting with nature. When their sister was diagnosed with pediatric cancer, the sisters struggled with ways to both support thier sister and to gather the strength and courage to take her through that incredibly scary and difficult time. They wished there was a way to connect with other siblings of children battling life threatening disease to relieve their pain and share their experiences and connect. They hope that the Sibling Sanctuary -connecting children with opportunities for nature excursions, botanical art projects, active outdoor classes and more will help relieve the loneliness, fear and sadness that comes with being the sibling of a child with life threatening disease. A 501c3 nonprofit.
